My name is Jennifer Alexandra Chinnery, and I am a horror scholar, writer and filmmaker. I am, at time of writing, undertaking my PhD at the University of Hull, specialising in found footage horror. Trust me, stick around here long enough and those three words – as well as ‘diegetic’ – will get really old, really fast. I read books, play games (of the pen-and-paper, board and video varieties) and delve into online horror media in its many forms.
To briefly outline my plans for this website: first thing it will include is a list of the things I do. Nice and simple, a pleasant outlet for my desperate need to catalogue things. It will also be a home for any essays or projects that I come up with that have a don't have a home elsewhere. Secondly, I’ll be using this as the primary platform for the wide array of interviews I undertake with horror filmmakers and artists. In this respect, I hope for this website to be of use to other film researchers, writers or people who just find the machinery behind horror filmmaking interesting.
I use social media sparingly, but I can be found on BlueSky under @jennyalexandra.bsky.social
See you soon!
